The Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation very quickly became my go to, it has the perfect finish, the shade is an almost perfect match, it’s so blendable, it dries flawlessly, it doesn’t make me look any oilier than I already am, it doesn’t smudge, and it has great coverage. The only ‘negative’ thing I would say about this foundation is you need some sort of moisturiser or primer on, and Charlotte has got you covered, her Magic Cream was created and is ideal for this foundation (although I have now run out of the Magic Cream, and am nearly out of the foundation… I feel a repurchase coming on!)
I originally bought shade 1, as I am very pale, and usually always have to go for the palest shade in a foundation range, but after receiving my item and trying the sample packets (I definitely recommend doing this if you are buying online and not in store), I learned that I am in fact shade 2. I ordered the foundation and concealer wand and it got there the day they said it would, no fuss. There was an easy form to fill for exchange, and I sent it back no problem. We did have a little bit of a cafuffle with the concealer, I asked for shade 2 of both products as an exchange and they only sent me the foundation, I gave it a week because I thought perhaps they were backed up or it had been sent separately but they told me they had refunded me (which they hadn’t). After another quick email to them they remedied the problem and I got my money back for the concealer.
When I first bought the foundation the moisturiser I was using was the Garnier day cream. I know what I like and I like what I know. It worked well enough, and I was so in awe of the foundation itself I didn’t really pay much attention to the cream under it. It gave my skin so much life, thanks to some health challenges I tend to look quite morose, I’ve got designer bags under my eyes, and not much oomph to my skin. I was so thrilled at how almost flawless my skin looked. It isn’t at all cakey, it takes hardly anytime at all to apply and blend. I’d say it was a medium coverage, and is definitely build able. It seems to be replacing my Rimmel ‘Wake Me Up Foundation, as this has a much more natural colour to it, and the shades of Wake Me Up are rather orange in comparison.
All in all, I adore this foundation, it is my daily go to and all round skin savior. Charlotte, thank you for creating the foundation of my dreams.
